Following an incredibly restrained January (five books) and February (three), this month’s haul (fifteen) definitely looks more like the old me. Although my bookish resolution to control my book buying took a bit of a hit, I am incredibly excited by many of the beautiful literary works that made their way into my possession.
Most excited to read:
Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer
I first heard about this book a couple of months ago when I saw it in Waterstones in Birmingham. Since then it’s kept cropping up, and it is now a hit Netflix movie starring Natalie Portman, and I want to read the book before I watch the adaptation.
Most excited to own:
Bookworm: A Memoir of Childhood Reading by Lucy Mangan (signed)
This autobiographical account follows the author’s relationship with the books that shaped her youth; I’m intrigued to discover where any similarities and disparities lie with my own experiences.
