    • Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books That Have Been Stuck On My TBR The Longest

February 6: Top Ten Books That Have Been On My TBR The Longest
Thanks to trusty old Goodreads, I easily found the first ten books I added to my virtual TBR; whilst they might not be the “official” ten books that have resided on my physical TBR the longest, they are certainly a valid benchmark of my reading habits since I began blogging. Interestingly enough, nine of the ten are the first books in series, because clearly I have a problem committing to anything other than standalones at the moment.

      1. The Book of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern
I am slowly working my way through Cecelia Ahern’s back catalogue, so I will eventually get around to this particular novel.

      2. A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray
Besides the truly beautiful covers, I know nothing whatsoever about this series. My friend Alice recently re-read it and was truly non-committal which has reduced my excitement.

      3. The Young Elites by Marie Lu
Apparently I added this to my TBR before Marie Lu’s first series, Legend, I think because it was newly released when I first started to use Goodreads.

      4. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
My Granny bought me the trilogy a few years ago but I’ve yet to dive into book one. I believe it’s a paranormal thriller/romance, so should the need arise for that particular genre I know what to pick up.

      5. Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch
The great anti-fantasy slump of 2016-17 rendered this book and series firmly stuck on my TBR list, but I have heard great things so maybe once I am finally back in love with the genre I’ll pick it up.

      6. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
Alien dystopian? I’m not sure it’s really my scene any more. Having said that, my reading preferences are typically cyclical so maybe I’ll pick it up one day.

      7. The Iron Trial by Holly Black and Cassandra Clare
This book was pitched as Harry Potter for a middle grade audience, and I’m still very excited to finally get around to reading it and the rest of the series.

      8. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
This is another series that was bought for me by my Granny a few years ago that hasn’t left my TBR pile. I believe it’s about kids with superpowers, but unfortunately I was severely put off that genre when I read the abomination that was Michael Grant’s Gone.

      9. The Selection by Kiera Cass
I’m pretty sure I bought these books because of how beautiful the covers are, but I’m not convinced they are quite my cup of tea anymore. Who knows?

      10. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
This series is getting re-released this spring/summer in the UK, so it seems like the perfect time to finally get in on the hype.
