One of my bookish resolutions for 2018 was to buy fewer books. A typical month for me (over the past few years) would see me acquire in excess of twenty books, causing issues for both my overflowing bookcases and my dwindling bank balance. As a result, this year I vowed to only purchase books that I had legitimately been anticipating. Cue my January 2018 book haul, which I deem a resounding success.
Second Best Friend by Non Pratt (6/10)
Most excited to read:
Before I Let Go by Marieke Nijkamp
Having read and loved This Is Where It Ends a couple of years ago, I’m excited to read this new release.
Most excited to own:
The Book of Dust: La Belle Sauvage by Philip Pullman (signed)
Thanks to Penguin for sending me this beautiful signed book: I finally read Northern Lights (the first volume in the His Darkest Materials series) last year, and loved it, so I’m looking forward to delving more into the world.
