Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

November 28: Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR
I can’t believe it’s December in just a few days! Where on earth has the year gone? Regardless, winter for me means cosying up with a blanket, a hot drink and a good book, and I’ve certainly got plenty to choose from!

1. Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde
This has been pitched as “an empowering novel for anyone who has ever felt that fandom is family”* which is so relatable that I’m sure I’ll love it.

2. We Are Okay by Nina LaCour
I’ve seen multiple positive reviews of this book recently on social media, and other than it being a LGBT YA contemporary I’m in the dark as to the premise, but excited to read it nevertheless.

3. A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess
This novel has been pitched on YouTube as Harry Potter if Hermione was the main character, and that’s all I need to know.

4. Turtles All The Way Down by John Green
I’ve yet to read John Green’s entire back catalogue, but since this recent release (his first since 2012) has been receiving so much hype, I want to read this before I inevitably get spoiled.

5. The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur
Having read Milk and Honey this year, I’m very excited to dive back into Rupi Kaur’s incredible poetry and accompanying illustrations.

6. The Geek’s Guide To Unrequited Love by Sarvenaz Tash
A YA contemporary set at comic-con? I’m sold. Also the subject matter sounds like it’s going to be amusing and fun-filled.

7. Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalo
I’ve been fascinated by Jack the Ripper since I was about 15, so I’m very intrigued to see how this YA novel attacks the notorious killer – so to speak.

8. Artemis by Andy Weir
Having recently devoured The Martian, I am very excited to read Andy Weir’s long awaited second novel.

9. The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
I couldn’t not include a couple of ARCs on this list: due for release in January, this book is a dark twist on fairy tales, which sounds like perfect winter reading.

10. Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings
Another January release, this is an adventure/sci-fi novel set on a spaceship with an eclectic cast of characters.
