Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Books On My Autumn TBR List

September 19: Top Ten Books On My Autumn TBR List
September is typically a month for some incredible book releases (pre-Christmas y’all), so this week’s list comprises some novels that I’ve recently got my hands on, as well as some that have been in my to-be-read pile for too long that I’m eager to finally get to.

1. Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
I really enjoy E. Lockhart’s books; they always make me think about serious issues whilst being really entertaining. Also, they are usually incredibly surprising.

2. The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
So many people have read and loved this recently, and I want in on the hype. I believe it’s about a bisexual aristocrat travelling the world in the 18th century.

3. The Next Together by Lauren James
Having recently read The Loneliest Girl in the Universe (which I loved), I’m definitely going to read Lauren James’ back catalogue.

4. Moonrise by Sarah Crossan
Sarah Crossan is one of my autobuy authors; I’ve never been disappointed by one of her books, and the death-penalty premise of this one sounds intriguing (and I know it’ll break me).

5. Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
I’m not the biggest fan of superhero culture, but I’m totally on board with this female empowered tale (and I am insanely excited about Sarah J. Maas’s Catwoman in the same series in 2018!)

6. Warcross by Marie Lu
One of my most anticipated releases of the year, I’m very much looking forward to jumping into this virtual world.

7. The Language of Thorns by Leigh Bardugo
Despite having yet read any novels in the Grisha world, these fantasy short stories seem like a good place to start.

8. One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus
Five students walk into detention, but only four walk out alive. I’m excited to read this mystery/thriller, as they are all too rare in the YA genre.

9. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
I recently read a review of the second (recently released) book in this series and it sounded amazing, so I need to read the first book, like now.

10. The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
Having read and loved Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda last year, I need to read Becky Albertalli’s second release. It’s also highly endorsed by Adam Silvera, author of my favourite book of the year, They Both Die At The End.

  1. Warcross is love! I have about 100 pages left but I’m definitely going to read more of Marie Lu’s work – this was my first novel of hers that I read.
Also looking forward to reading The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue, Wonder Woman, One of Us is Lying and Nevernight! They’re all in my bookcase, waiting to be read.. :’)
