Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favourite Authors

March 7: Top Ten Favourite Authors
This week is a freebie week, so I decided to discuss some of my favourite authors, most of whom have held a solid place on this list (which isn’t really in any particular order) for years!

1. J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
The Queen reigns: Jo has been my favourite author for 16 years! I will read anything she writes (and cares to release), probably for eternity.

2. Malorie BlackmanNoughts and Crosses
This series has stayed with me for over a decade, but I should probably read more of Malorie’s novels because I’m pretty sure I’ll love them too.

3. Audrey NiffeneggerThe Time Traveler’s Wife
As the author of my favourite standalone novel of all time (next year it will lose that title!), Audrey obviously had to make the list.

4. Lee ChildKilling Floor
If I ever want to read a thriller, Lee Child is my go-to-author. With a kickass protagonist and amazing plots that keep you guessing until the end, you can’t go wrong.

5. Robert GalbraithThe Cuckoo’s Calling
Cheating slightly, but I love Robert in his own right. Mystery and thrillers are one of my favourite genres, and I’m eagerly anticipating Cormoran Strike #4.

6. Stephenie MeyerTwilight
Although I was late getting into this fandom, I now absolutely adore it and it will probably be among my favourite series for many years.

7. Sarah J. MaasA Court of Thorns and Roses
This was one of my favourite reads of 2015, but for some reason I’ve not got around to reading A Court of Mist and Fury yet. I also enjoyed the first two (plus the prequel novellas) Throne of Glass books.

8. Anthony HorowitzStormbreaker
When I was in primary school this was one of my very favourite series, and I still enjoy jumping into them when I want a quick, fast-paced action novel.

9. Cecelia Ahern PS, I Love You
When I want an adult contemporary, I rarely look any further than Cecelia Ahern. The plots move reasonably quickly and the writing is simple: they are great light pick-me-ups.

10. Suzanne Collins The Hunger Games
As the author of my favourite trilogy, she couldn’t be omitted – but can we have a new YA book sometime soon please?!
