For the past couple of days I’ve been sick – in bed for 24 hours, watching Orange Is The New Black with a fever sick. The last thing I felt like doing was reading, especially anything heavy (such as Robinson Crusoe, which I really need to get on with for my next MA essay due in 5 weeks), but there’s only so many episodes of a show one can watch in a day, so I wandered to my bookshelves in the spare room and picked up a gem I was saving for such an occasion as this: Weird Things Customers Say In Bookshops by Jen Campbell (it didn’t fit a category for the 2016 Reading Challenge but it was just what I needed!)

Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops is a collection of amusing and often ridiculous questions and statements said in bookshops, primarily in the UK, as well as some from stores around the world: some are pure magic. It is a quick, non-fiction read that cannot fail to make you smile!
“CUSTOMER: If I were to, say… meet the love of my life in this bookshop, what section do you think they would be standing in?”
I read the sequel last year (I found it in my prefered hardcover before this one) which I adored just as much – I devoured both volumes with a constant smile on my face. They both also made me question humanity, as some people’s logic and their quotes are just too insane for words!
